Introducing Pit

The instruments you can’t bring outside.

Pit turns your MIDI controller and iPad into a front-ensemble instrument player. The sounds your show needs, mapped for performance — no laptop, no recording session on the 50-yard line.

Performance Percussion

One instrument system for modern percussionists.

Three focused instruments for modern percussion: bring the sounds, samples, and loops your performance needs—without building a computer rig around them.

The instruments you can’t bring outside.

Front-ensemble instruments built around an iPad and the MIDI controller you already use.

Follow Pit
One clear answer

You bought the controller. Now get the instruments.

A mallet controller sends notes. Pit turns those notes into the concert instruments your program needs—organized around the player, not the studio.

“Directors don’t want to have problems. They want answers. Pit is the answer.”

Performance Percussion

1

Connect your controller

Use a class-compliant MIDI controller such as a malletSTATION or MalletKAT.

2

Choose the instruments

Build a show from performance-ready sounds for mallets, drums, metals, and effects.

3

Play the show

Move between instruments from one clear surface, with sustain and expression where the music calls for them.

Built around the job

One player. More colors. Less rig.

Pit is for the moments when the score asks for an instrument that cannot reasonably travel with the ensemble.

01 / FIELD

Marching band

Give the front ensemble access to concert colors without rebuilding a laptop session at every rehearsal.

Most front ensembles run MainStage or GarageBand off a laptop—power, an audio interface, a mixer, then speakers, set up and troubleshot by whoever’s available. Things don’t power up. Things don’t connect. The laptop is the hardest thing to get out there.

  • Timpani and concert bass drum
  • Marimba, vibes, and chimes
  • Cymbals, metals, and effects
02 / INDOOR

Indoor percussion

Turn one controller into a flexible instrument station that can change with the production.

  • Fast instrument changes
  • Pedal-aware performance
  • Show-level organization
03 / STAGE

Live percussion

Cover the difficult-to-carry parts in pits, theaters, churches, and working bands.

  • Compact stage footprint
  • Player-centered controls
  • Reusable performance sets
Bring the controller you know

Made to meet the gear already in your room.

Pit works with any class-compliant MIDI controller rather than a single hardware brand. If your controller sends standard MIDI to an iPad, it works.

Pedals: sustain and expression supported — vibraphone pedaling works the way your hands expect.

Final compatibility will be verified and published by model before release.

About Performance Percussion

The performance-first percussion company.

Percussionists are always building their own rigs. But electronics and samples get overwhelming fast, especially without a tech background. We’ve done the hard work to make it easier.

A high school band director’s vision of a marimba performance is different from a virtuosic orchestral percussionist’s. Performance-first means making the right version for the job.
